PlayStation Announces Release Dates for Pulse Explore Wireless Earbuds and Elite Wireless Headset

Sony has officially announced the release dates for its wireless audio devices, which were initially unveiled during the PlayStation Showcase in May. The Pulse Explore wireless earbuds will hit the market on December 6, followed by the Pulse Elite wireless over-ear headphones on February 21, 2024. Both devices feature a sleek white-and-black design to match the aesthetics of the PS5 console and will initially be launched in the US and select European countries. Availability in other regions will gradually expand in the following months. Pre-orders for these devices will begin on November 9, and while there is no information on availability in India yet, Sony’s wireless audio devices are typically sold globally.

Customers in the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, and other major European countries will be able to pre-order the Pulse Explore wireless earbuds from the PlayStation Direct online store and select retailers on November 9. Priced at $199.99, these earbuds promise a lifelike sound experience during gaming with their planar magnetic drivers. These drivers are designed to reproduce sound with remarkable accuracy across the audible spectrum, allowing players to hear games exactly as the developers intended. The earbuds offer up to five hours of battery life, with an additional 10 hours provided by the charging case. They also come with integrated microphones for taking calls or communicating with teammates, and feature touch controls for volume adjustment. Sony has incorporated AI-based noise-rejection technology into the earbuds’ microphones to eliminate unwanted background noise.

On the other hand, the PlayStation Elite wireless headset is priced at $149.99 and features a retractable microphone. It offers an uninterrupted playback time of up to 30 hours and can provide 2 hours of battery life from just a 10-minute charge. The headset utilizes planar magnetic drivers to create a more immersive gaming experience, especially in games that support 3D Audio on the PS5. Similar to the earbuds, the headset comes with the PlayStation Link USB adapter, which enables connectivity to a PS5, PC, or Mac device. Bluetooth capability is also available, and users can listen to audio from both channels simultaneously. The USB adapters will be included in the package, but will also be sold separately for $24.99.

Sony previously unveiled these wireless audio devices in August, alongside the PlayStation Portal handheld gaming device. The Portal, which will be released on November 15, allows players to remotely access their PS5 console and play downloaded games on a smaller screen. It comes with controllers that have haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, similar to the DualSense controllers. Additionally, Sony is preparing to launch slimmer versions of the PS5 console with a detachable 4K Blu-ray disc drive, starting on November 10 in the US.

Overall, Sony’s lineup of wireless audio devices and gaming hardware releases aims to provide gamers with a more immersive and convenient gaming experience. The Pulse Explore wireless earbuds and Elite wireless headset offer high-quality sound and compatibility with multiple devices, making them ideal accessories for PlayStation enthusiasts.
